Induction-heating temperature distribution and coil cooling checks

Key checks for temperature distribution, water-cooled coils, power-supply margin and measured process validation.

Induction-heating temperature distribution and coil cooling checks

Reaching a target temperature does not by itself demonstrate a stable process. Surface-to-core differences, coil cooling and supply margin also matter during continuous operation. Use the actual workpiece and duty cycle as the basis for review. More than one temperature point Edges, surfaces and internal regions may heat at different rates. Record dimensions, starting temperature, heating time and boundary conditions, then compare predictions with measurements at several relevant positions. Complex geometries deserve particular attention to local overheating. Cooling and electrical margin Tube bore, pipe length, bends and parallel circuits affect water flow and pressure drop. Supply selection should also account for changing load, duty cycle and electrical safety margin rather than a single peak-power test. Validate before release Thermal analysis supports design comparison but does not replace production validation. Hardening applications also call for measured temperatures, hardness profiles, microstructure and equipment safety checks. For material or magnetic-component questions, contact IFcores .
